Easter events are on normal islands

Easter 2008 is upon us, and what is Easter without easter eggs!?

This year the easter eggs can be found while walking around the islands of Syrnia. Each hour there are only one or two islands where the eggs are hidden, so it is important to figure out where to look!

You can only find the easter eggs while traveling , you also get speed experience. For example you won't find the easter eggs when traveling on a horse.

To add to the events today there also will be some contests, and expect some invasions as well!We wish all players a happy easter, and good luck finding the special easter egg!

Easter and party island

Although there has been no announcment, party island is expected to open at midnight tonight.

Sorry for the lack of updates lately, i'll be posting about that soon.

Pirate invasion early this morning

In the early hours of this morning, pirates invaded Mezno island.

The Keelhails pirates were beaten at Mentan, as well as the pirates at Xanso.

Roughnecks captured Franir mines and reinforcements of theirs turned up to help. They have all since been killed.

If the attacks continue at these times, its going to be hard for europeans to join the pirates.

Results of Poll regading the new update

After 197 votes, it seems that 60% of player thought the new udpate was good.

The rest were either undecided or did not like the update overall.

There is a real mixed bag of opinions on some of the new features. Many dislike the new chat and would prefer it how it was before, yet at the same time no one seems to dislike the change in burn rates.

I guess that saying that you cannot please all the people all time, comes in to play here ;-)

Top 5 XP gains this week

Since my clan [Core] got in the top 5 of the DW high scores, I got interested in the scores side of things for both clans, skills and individuals. So I regularly check the scores and see how fast players are gaining levels and xp.

Seeing lower level combat players gaining more xp than higher level players makes me wonder where they are fighting and what weapons they are using. You can learn a lot from the scores ;)

Whilst I have never mentioned my own clan here before, today I want to congratulate them all for working so hard lately and reaching/working towards their personal goals. Way to go clannies!!

Although we only have 9 members (1 on long term leave at the moment) im proud to see three of them holding the top 3 positions for xp gained. Well done BlackLoter, Rictor and thesunisdeep!!

Elven Casino / Lottery

Whilst in Penteza I noticed that a change was made to the lottery, although it was never mentioned in the updates.

It now tells you how many tickets need to be purchased before the winner is chosen. I hope this means more players will participate in future :)

There have been other unmentioned changes too, such as when removing items from your shop, syrnia automatically fills in the number in the box with the amount of that item you have. Little changes like are useful, im looking forward to finding more!

Happy 3rd Birthday Syrnia!!

Thats right, Syrnia is 3 years old today! To celebrate the occasion, party island will be open for the next 24 hours.

The fifth of March is Syrnias birthday, it all started 3 years ago when the first players arrived. Exactly those 1096 days ago, Syrnia looked a lot different. Much has been improved to make the game stand where it is today. Step by step Syrnia is expanding and growing daily, and due to that its important to remember and celebrate the day it all started.

All of the players are invited to celebrate this glorious day with us, many events are scheduled throughout the day, starting from 00:00 till 23:59. Below is a list of activities scheduled:

• The battle arena has fights scheduled all day. Each fight is limited to certain combat levels. Everyone can participate 3 times today. Remember: If you die in the Desert arena you will not lose any items, so it's safe to try.
• Craft unique blue balloons at Festival forest ! Yes blue; no red balloons this year ;).
• If you're lucky you can get one of the few Birthday cakes from the chests that appear during the day.
• You can fish (the red striped fish) at Holiday lake
• There is a trading post at Syrnia celebration center
• You can woodcut at Festival forest, the forest has very high seed rates.
• You can collect a free gift at Syrnia celebration center (You can choose a Kanzo teleport orb).
• Rumors go about invasions..you never know when the monsters attack!

You can reach party island via Port Senyn, Crab nest, or Eylsian docks.

Battlemage arena schedule update

A new event has been added to the schedule for level 10 to 19 players.

Scheduled fights:

At 2008-03-08 16:01 Level: 30 - 39
At 2008-03-09 12:46 Level: 10 - 19

Possible new chat feature

After much talk in the forums regarding the quality of world chat and moderation, it appears that there may be a future update which will give players the option to ignore other players.

Obviously this will only be implemented if its feasible to do. Trial and error with the coding as well as the impact/load it will have on the server will be considered before it is decided if it will be added to Syrnia.

Currently there is no timescale for this update, but knowing it is being worked on may please some ;-)

As for the affect this will have on moderating, we will have to wait and see.

Pirate invasion in early hours of this morning

This morning there was a pirate invasion at locations on Mezno island.

It appears the Roughnecks at Xanso claimed a few lives before they were defeated.

All locations are clear now and thus the invasion is over.

Another date has been added to the Desert Battle Mage Arena for level 30 to 39 players.
