More info on Webbers island

Wyks has created a thread on the forums with all the information that is known about the new island. As the post will eventually slip off the forums, i'll post it here for future reference:

GENERAL

• You can sail to Web haven from Xanso.
• There are no auto attacks on this island.
• You won't be attacked while working.
• Constructing is not possible on this island.

PIRATES

• The pirates don't have acces to the island.
• The pirates do have the option to invade this island.

Location: Web haven
This is the only part of the island not under danger by the spiders. The threat of spider infestation is high though which is why the town is always under heavy guard.Visitors only come to this island to hunt spiders so they may get the valuable web from them. They help protect this port so they may also receive spider silk as well. When properly used, spider web can help make an item stronger since their web is stronger than steel.

Location: Sorer mines
The spiders come here often to lay eggs. As you look at the mining tunnels you see spider hatchlings crawl out and head to their lair.

Upon visiting here one can clearly see this is the main gathering place for the spiders. You can see the queens, hunters, and spiderlings lurking within their webs on the treetops. You can see webbed corpses hanging down the tree branches. Brave adventurers come here only to try to get the rare silk that spiders will drop.

Location: Silk Woods
While unable to see any spiders, one can clearly see the remains of numerous victims laid about all over the forest. Only experienced woodcutters can work here, not only by potential visits by the spiders, but also due to the silk that covers the trees.

Location: Webbed forest
The animals have long abandoned this forest making it safe for travel. You see some spiders crawling off in search of their next meal, but fortunately they do not spot you. The trees here are mostly healthy except the growing number that have been covered with webs.

As some of you might have hoped: the invading Sorer spiders did not came out of nowhere! They came from the Webbers island that you can now reach via Mezno island, Xanso.

Webbers island

On an unknown island, a breed of spiders evolved to become a dominant force and quickly infested the entire island. While humans gained control of a few locations, the spiders still lurk in the shadows, ready to prey on the weak and add to their collection of webbed corpses.

You can help the citizens of Web haven defend this last location of the island not under danger by the spiders, and who knows, you might get some of the rare Spider silk!

Smithing upgrades

Smithing upgrades have been added. You can now use certain items to upgrade armour/weapons. At the moment you can use Hardened and Soft spider silk as a Durability upgrade. (Yes, spider silk can be very strong!).

Pirates

Pirates can not reach Webbers island. They should not miss much because pirates can still gather the spider drops at other locations.

However, jealous pirates can attack this island though...Let's hope they won't invade the island as a surprise party today!

Some notes about these game updates
No new quests have been added. We do want more quests in Syrnia, but we want to update the quest system first. Once that's done, we will add quests to all existing islands.

While we did want to give pirates access to the Webbers island, we decided it was better to let them have a new island to attack. Plus, most pirates are not in the level range that the island is designed for.

We know there's need for new higher level locations/features, and we will of course be working on higher level features and/or locations.

Boat fishing

It looks like the pirates are more active on the Sea again: You can now find Locked small chests on the open sea.

The staff

Besides game updates we've especially been working hard on our staff structure and organisation. It has been completely renewed last week, and we have expanded the staff.

Bugs & Tickets

Our top priorities now are resolving bugs and all open tickets.A few minor bugs have been fixed already, but not much worth mentioning yet:

Bouquette stacking has been fixed.

Thieving shop gold; the minimum time is now 900 seconds, max. time is 1800 seconds. It was already coded like this, but due to a bug the times were messed up.

Please help Syrnia, and the staff, by marking any of your tickets as solved if it's solved or not important any more.

New items / Creatures

It appears that there are new creatures in Syrnia looking at the current invasion.

The queen drops pepper seeds, beet seeds, tomato seeds and Queen spider meat .

Queen spider meat can be cooked at level 15 and it heals 6hp.

The hunter has dropped diaspores so far.

More info as it becomes available.

There is an Sorer hunter invasion at Deep Lemo woods.

There was a pirate invasion this morning

I don't have all the details except that it happened about 8am Syrnia time.

Just posting this for reference. The next invasion will probably be at least 5 days from now....
