Having known about a screenshot on the dw-hq website of an alleged Outlands Scanner, I assumed it was a joke. With world chat filled with DW members trying to make a conpspiracy about
DW owning Syrnia , the url of the picture was mentioned. Then Gez pointed out that the
url in the screenshot actually gave you a login screen!
What happened next was all of the DW members went quiet, then within minutes the login page dissapeared as well as the image. I dont have a screenshot of the login page, but I do have a copy of the removed image ;-)
I'll leave you to make up your own mind about this conspiracy ;-)

my head tells me that m2h gave dw the right to change game around how ever they like it as u cannot talk to m2h in game i would like to now how to talk to him as mods dont let me and sending messages to him is forbidden !

Come on people. DW are a bunch of wind up merchants, they come into World Chat and get people all ryled up, then they hop it back to Clan Chat to watch you all argue and get muted. They must be laughing themselves stupid at most of you. Just don't get involved with them.
And if any of the rumours are true and they do have any extra infulence in the game...who really cares? It's a game, will that really effect your enjoyment of it that much?

Yeah, as others have said, DW love the attention they get so like all the conspiracy stories about them. They create/cause most of these stories themself.
I see a practical joke made at people's expense. Conspiracy? Hardly.
I personally think that DW didn't create this. Not that I am sticking up for them, its just that there is not possible way that they had/have an OL scanner to scan for people. I say that this thing was to scare everyone in Syrnia so they wouldn't use the Outlands anymore and even to work up people in Syrnia.
The point is that dw made the screenshots and put them on their server to get people talking and argueing about them. Dunno why they want that sort of attention though :P

To make such a thing is a very easy task.
Some games do provide information needed to make these things on their own but as far as I know this one don't intentionally but as you can see the players at your location it can be changed to give you a update all the time )
that means somebody in the dw-clan have to do some programing for m2h and made it or m2h likes the dw-clan and provides them with the info to find players location or made it for them or they managed to hack the program to give up the player location
it should not be to difficult to temper the code to give you the players location
and as the link test123 gave it gives you a ol scanner by acquadark ;) when i press refresh there it just says i must log in and redirects me to the www.dw-hq.com
well i don't really visit the ol so i don't really care but if they have this it is a real big advantage to the dw pk that roam the ol.
other games that makes a lot of these hacks are runescape and travian

but i still believe such a scanner is possible to make easily... even tho i probably won't make one to prove it :P
Some DW members do coding for Syrnia, so yes it is possible for them to make an OL scanner.
A scanner wouldnt be much use though as most people just run through the outlands. It wouldnt be worth the hassle of coding one just to catch the odd miner or someone camping at OL #35.

i wont deny that it is possible to create one, but i cant confirm that someone has "real" one ;)

Whether this image is true meaning DW members were able to PK players in OL at will or that the image is a fake drawn up to limit traffic in to the OL Dosn't matter. The fact is this image is designed to give DW members an unfair advantage over all other clans and players. If this is the case then they are cheating and any members found cheating should be banned from the game.
Oh LOL - I love reading this stuff. I know it's bad that I laugh at others lack of knowledge (and quite frankly sense) but well.. let's be serious eh?

Im quite sure its possible to run an sql query to see who is at what location :)
Obviously it's possible to run an SQL query for it, otherwise how in the heck would Syrnia be able to display that info? :-P

I hardly think Mike would let anyone get away with such a thing, and I certainly wouldn't.

Saucy that is where your wrong, DW clan could get away with it and m2h would let them, because some of your members do coding for syrnia, and Dark Lord Abu(clan leader of DW) is m2h's brother..
So I'm sure m2h would let his brother to have one and knowing him he would let his clan members have it as well...
so all in all I think it is real, and m2h just looks the other way
To be quite honest, this is completely possible, i am not in dw and without helping mike code this, i could do it, i'd just have to follow a couple of pages, starting by using firefox to go into the OL, press 2 buttons that i won't disclose and then leaving and using the info that i got from pressing said buttons and then just make one, no matter how much you pester me, even if you do find out my player name, i will quite frankly just put you on my ignore list. so, all in all, it is possible, but im not going to disclose how :P
